Any opportunities in your area to volunteer for a couple days a week and interact with others? Find one, get a conversation going, and take her out for a cuppa. CC just happens to be around the corner from my apartment. I'm about to give up on online dating Lounge. Not sending them a dick pic. Update cute photos.

What a load of shite! I very rarely got any messages back. I hope i do too Montezuma. You deserve someone. velociraptor and TheCanuk Thanks guys! I know how you feel Montezuma.

I have lowered my standards, I have broadened my parameters, I have chatted with many men. And what I said about dating here in my little central Wisconsin town is still true. Those men would definitely feel taken advantage of and would most likely not continue the relationship. So I have to be a little careful about how I am perceived by the public. You would be proud to know that I am still out there trying to online date even though it is extremely difficult.

I just think a lot of men have this ideal notion that they can still get a young woman who is perfect for them. For example, there is a man I found online who lives in a town 20 minutes away from me. We have a lot in common, and I mean a lot more than usual. And this is just one example of how online dating is so frustrating. I appreciate that you wanted to check in , re-evaluate your earlier response, and update us.

One inch taller is a deal-breaker? The trick, I think, is to differentiate between the changes that would go against what we like about ourselves, and which ones might be growth. Yes, online dating is frustrating, but how else do we meet other single seniors? Good for you sticking with it! Yes I agree. On line dating sites have been a big disappointment for me. So my question is what should a gentleman do that is 62 years old and single but still looking for a single woman? I am in a different part of the country but many of your comments rang true with me in this area also!

I am in a college town, a fair amount of cultural events, K population, and not many responses! Maybe I need to expand my acceptance level?

How far do you compromise? It is much harder at my age! I guess I may be naieve as to the amount of fake profiles? I take care of my appearance, am educated, self examined, and yet by far most contacts are only interested in the first part, not that I can hold an intelligent conversation or know who I am. Am I missing something about compatibility? LOL, might as well laugh! I definitely realize we are all older and am not looking for youth just someone who shows they care to put their best foot forward.

I am still looking, have been off for at the most 3 months at a time. I am just frustrated that in 5 years, the pool rarely changes. Seems men who have taken care of their appearance, are financially and emotionally stable are either fake or looking for someone 20 years younger!

I hate online dating. Whatever happened to real dating in real time? It can be a minefield. I am It was so much fun at first to realize there were many decent, attractive, successful men out there who were actually nice to me after such a bad marriage 28 yrs. I made mistakes, fell in love too quickly and learned the ropes along the way. The last man I dated, started out really nice, then changed. I ended up getting Herpes 2 from him. Confirmed w blood test it was him Now, I, being honest fear no one will want me because of that.

I concur with all of the comments here. Online dating is very frustrating and, increasingly expensive, since more sites are charging a fee to even send or reply to a message. I have tried a number of sites, Christian and non-Christian, over probably the past decade. It seems when you throw those two variables into the mix — college degreed AND Christian — it really narrows down the field.

After awhile, you start to see a lot of the same profiles on the same sites for years. One good thing to have come out of online dating for me is I have actually made two long-term friends. She actually sent me a message on a Christian site, we met and have become friends. I attended her wedding several years ago to a man she met online, but who turned out to be a sociopath long story. She is now engaged to another man she met online who seems to be a decent one this time.

However, we have maintained a friendship for over six years and he is someone I can socialize with and take as an escort when needed, etc. There has never been any physical intimacy. My female friends are puzzled that I can maintain a friendship and it does get a little weird sometimes, but I value his friendship.

Still, I would like to find someone that I can feel passionate about and excited to see. Well, sorry this is so long. The best of luck to all of you reading this post. My personal experience has been that men tend to fib about their height and their fitness, which seems silly. Wow, why would any women want to be with a man that shallow? Humans are imperfect beings and that imperfection makes us human….

Overall I think you approach online dating with a sense of humor and the thinking that you could always meet someone interesting that may not be a potential partner but certainly a friend. Have fun with it. Be yourself. Find the humor in those crazy dates. I keep my gal pals totally entertained when we get together with stories from my dates…. And yeah I have met someone! Is he perfect? Says he wants to me at woman who is young enough to still have kids. Good luck with that! Much has been assumed in the advice I have been given here.

I gave three examples of my experience online. They were not by any means the only experiences I had. I met and chatted with many men, during each time I gave online dating a try.

Each of those times I was online for about 6 months or more at a time. And each time, the guys who reached out to me either just winked, which I consider a cop out, and if they did comment, they were just not my type at all. The men I wanted to meet never responded to any of my messages. It was very frustrating. Because if they did read, they would realize there is very little we have in common. If you start dating a man, it is assumed you are exclusive with him and that the relationship is going somewhere.

If I were to treat dating like a game, or date several men at a time, it would be seen as shallow and I would be considered a tease. These men would see me as a player and not a sincere lady looking for a real relationship. They would assume I was looking primarily for sex, and treat me as such.

But this advice does not help me. I apologize for getting that wrong. I think that some just send out formula messages hoping that if they send enough out there, some will land in willing in-boxes. The key to this is to be up front from the beginning that we plan to meet and date several people until we feel drawn to a deeper relationship with someone. At that point it will be time to discuss exclusivity — not before the first coffee has cooled off.

I hope other readers will share their points of view and keep the conversation going. We can all learn from each other. Great advice as always.

First, you need to understand the dynamics. The men are the hunters and the women are the hunted. What this creates is a swarm around the women. After probably well over dates I would think what I have found is that for every messages a woman gets a man might get Now, look at those odds. Was what he said right? Hell no! It was his immature way of showing his frustration and venting on you as you were handy.

With people moving further and further away from the urban setting your face to face meeting may not always be feasible. So, I travel miles for a date in the Seattle area or 3 hours to a date or dance class in Spokane!! It is what it is. So, will I give up on on-line dating? What is the other choice. Would I be with the wrong person just to be with someone? Of course not.

The same things women complain about men for. But, some of us take it seriously and do want to find love, companionship, intimacy, friendship and oh yes, sex please. Just one mans perspective. I meant that we should lighten up and enjoy it. And I am

It is no secret that men are dating less and that men are giving up on dating women. Single men are giving up on women and giving up trying to please their unrealistic expectations when it comes to dating.

There are many reasons for this can include classic fights between the battle of the sexes. However, there are other reasons men have given up on women in the 21 st Century and why dating is declining. These are fifteen reasons men are giving up on women and why men are deciding that it is preferable to stay single rather than deal with the hassle of dating and marrying women.

Single men are giving up on women because they are tired of women always trying to change men and making men into their pet project. Once men get into a relationship with men, after a while, the man they are dating becomes their project to change.

Women tell men that the changes that they are making are for their benefit and will make them better people to everyone they encounter. Is that true? Is that right for them to do? Probably not. Should men put up with it? Only if men see themselves putting up with this person for their lifetime and are willing to compromise who they are for the person.

Otherwise, men should not put up with this, which is why men get tired of women. Single men are giving up on women because they are tired of women making them into pet projects. Men, single or not, should not put up with this and should be upfront that they will not put up with this or draw a compromise line. Bottom line: men are sick of being made into a pet project.

Single men have given up on women because they do not directly communicate what they want and expect men to know by correctly reading body language. Women most often blame men for not communicating enough. Men are tired of always receiving the blame while women get away blame-free. Single men have given up on women because they have decided that women are not worth their time trying to develop any type of relationship. Women have continually ignored them.

Women have not been willing to get to know a guy as a friend. Women have stopped communicating with men when even when men are nice. Men have tried their best to be friendly, nice, and sociable and yet women still act those ways by following the bandwagon fallacy that all men are animals who are not worth their time.

Single men are giving up on women because they are sick of being thought of as animals. Women characterize men as being lowly animals who have human characteristics and are only necessary to put up with on a daily basis.

This treatment implicitly makes women who think this way only view men as animals and damage their relationships with men. Men are tired of being thought of as animals and rightly should not put up with it. Single men have giving up on women because they are tired of being thought of as a disappointment. If men are friends with women who believe this about men, they will likely not remain friends for long because it is detrimental to their friendship.

These types of thoughts, values, and statements hurt men yet it is perfectly acceptable for women to say things like this while if men did something similar, they would be called sexist or misogynist. This is a double standard that is acceptable by society. For women that think this about men, men are tired of hearing these things and putting up with them so it is no surprise that men continue to leave women.

Men are sick of it. Single men are giving up on women because they are tired of being thought of as man-children. Women think that men are merely grown, children. This term assumes that men are immature and are incapable of being adults and are still children.

Men are tired of being portrayed as only grown children by the media and treated as such by women. Are you starting to see a pattern and double standard here? Single men are giving up on women because they are tired of being thought of as a loser. Since they are a man-child, they must be a loser too because men must not have a great job or something else that is thought to make men a winner and a real man.

Men are tired of this thinking from women. Single men are giving up on women because they are tired of women believing that they need to rescue men from themselves. Once single men start dating a woman and marry a woman, women think that it is their job to rescue their man from whatever they think is wrong with them.

Women like to shape men into their own image. Single men are fed up with having women compartmentalize all men as needing to be rescued. Single men, continue this trend of not dating women.

Single men are giving up on women because they are tired of women thinking that all men are the same. Men are only the same in that they share xx chromosomes; beyond that, men have different interests, goals, and views on life. In short, all men are not the same. There are nice men. There are bad men.

There are successful men. There are men with traditional values and there are men with progressive values. All men are not the same. This false box that women put men into is yet another reason men have given up on women and do not want to get into a relationship.

Relationships are two-sided so women need to take a look in the mirror as well. Single Men are giving up on women because they are tired of being thought of and treated as trash. Men are thought of as trash. Enough said. Treat others how you would like to be treated. Single men are giving up on women because they are tired of being told that there is something wrong with them because they are male. Single men are giving up on women because they are tired of always receiving the blame for when a relationship ends.

Relationships are a two-way street. This is true of friendships to marriages, yet men often are the ones who are blamed for a relationship not being successful. Stop blaming others and take responsibility when it is the fault of one or both parties in a relationship. Single men are giving up on women because they are tired of it being their fault if women are not happy.

If they cannot make women happy or are unhappy for some reason, men receive the blame even if they try to help. Men are sick of these unrealistic expectations and obligations that women believe men must fill in their lives.

Single men are giving up on women because they are tired of being thought of as the evil gender. This follows from the idea of men being animals, men-children, and trash. Women are thought of as the good and perfect gender while men always are portrayed as the evil and inferior gender.

Again, thoughts lead to actions and how people treat others. Men are tired of being thought of this way and treated as such. Single men are giving up on women because they are tired of how women characterize, treat, and try to change men from the list above. All Men are not guilt-free, but not all women are guiltless either. It would be more beneficial if women tried to get along with men instead of attacking them.

The same can be said to men about their relationships with women. Regardless, single men are learning to enjoy the single life and single women are too.

Stay civil singles with each other and learn to work with the other because the world would be really boring if it was only made up of men or women.

Take a look guys. Take a good look. That coupled with their terrible attitude toward men is why most sane guys have given up on dating! Any self-respecting man would not have anything to do with these disgusting pigs masquerading as females. The pickings are much slimmer for young guys these days. They have my sympathy!!!! The more unattractive a woman is, unironically the more pronounced this spitefulness is — hence things like the Karen phenomenon. Stop complaining and get busy active in political resistance.

Otherwise, just be man enough to go your own way. Learn to rely on each other for company, comfort, and a decent future. Not necessarily gay and most likely not but definitely smarter than the average man.

Well, you got your wish and your 30 years too late. I have a younger brother and sister and none of us have kids. Went MGTOW years ago. I tried to date and be honest for years.

It always turned into a job interview of how much I made, what I could buy her and her telling me what and how to live. Selling everything for her including my dog. None of my wants or needs entered the picture.
